As a follow-on to our prior year meeting with valuations as a topic, this session will hone in on and focus on more specific strategies/considerations.
Specifically, we will discuss the use of discount valuations in determining the fair market value of assets for estate and gift tax purposes. Included in our discussion will be (i) types of discounts applicable to different asset types (ii) legal structure and its impact on discounts (iii) maximizing applicable discounts (iv) recent court rulings involving discount valuations, as well as other items pertinent to valuations and estate planning.
